With the NZHI tool, this is how it goes!
Step 1 - Scan and analysis
We analyze the data of the 10 domains of your entire hospital. We integrate this evaluation in our carbon accounting and document scope 1, 2, 3 emissions. We also document your current ESG strategy and communication and we evaluate your current level of CSRD compliance.
Step 2 - Reporting
We write a report including your full data on the 10 domains. We ensure that this data and charts can be included in the annual report. We follow EFRAG standards and focus on financial and non-financial risks (double materiality analysis) and include ESG impact. We explain the hospital's sustainability efforts and how future monitoring will take place.
Step 3 - Selection and implementation
How to reduce the impact by implementing alternatives? We focus on stakeholder involvement in the sustainability committees and green teams of the medical departments and select priorities together. We focus on hospital wide communication.
We assist the procurement department use its market power in communicating with suppliers to influence scope 3 emissions. Throughout the process, we look at economic and ecological gains.
Step 4 - Annual sustainability report
For a hospital it is highly recommended and probably mandatory in the future to include ESG data in your annual report. It monitors your current situation and tracks your progress. It’s also an opportunity to keep track of your sustainability strategy.
We transfer all data from steps 1 – 3 to the sustainability coordinator so the hospital can opt to write its own annual sustainability report at this point, or involve NZHI in this process.
